Christian Initiation and Faith Formation (top) - We invite anyone who is interested in joining the Catholic Church (Inquiry) or would like to continue their journey to full communion in the Catholic Church to please contact Jason Adams, at 509-3762 or by e-mail at JasonA@SEAS-carmel.org. The meetings are held on Sunday mornings after the 9:30 a.m. Mass in the Upper Room. Baby sitting is available.

Baccalaureate Mass(top) - You are invited to the Baccalaureate Mass for the class of 2008 which will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 5:30 p.m. in the Nave.  Please arrive by 5:10 for seating. Immediately following the Liturgy, you and your family are invited to a dinner in the Social Hall. Please RSVP by May 20, 2008 to Ann at the Parish Office, 846-3850.

Life Line Screening (top) - Prevent a stroke in as little as 10 minutes! Life Line Screening will be performing a day of preventative health screenings at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Monday, May 12th, 2008.

The tests offered include a state of the art ultrasound screening of the carotid arteries in the neck (most strokes are linked to plaque build-up in these arteries), another ultrasound screening of the abdominal aortic aneurysm (ruptured AAA’s have a 85-94% mortality rate and present little or no signs), a third test which screens for plaque build-up in the arteries of the legs (a strong indicator of coronary heart disease) and a fourth bone density test which screens for signs of osteoporosis.

“Why not just go to my doctor for these tests?” you may ask. The answer, although surprising, is that your physician typically cannot order these tests without clear evidence of symptoms. Ironically, most people who suffer a stroke or abdominal aneurysm never show any signs that a major medical catastrophe is about to occur.

These painless, non-invasive tests take about 10 minutes each and are offered for just $45 each (all four for $129). YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER by calling 1-800-324-1851

The Indiana Blood Center Blood Drive (top) - Sunday, May 18th, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Social Hall. Students age 16 can donate with written parental permission. Interfaith Hospitality Network (top) - Over the weekend of May 17 & 18, IHN will be holding sign-ups for volunteers to help host our next group of homeless families here at the church during the weeks of July 6th & 13th. For those who aren't familiar with this ministry, SEAS participates with about 30 other faith communities in Central Indiana to provide temporary, emergency housing to homeless families. During our hosting weeks, our guests stay on site at the church daily between 5 PM and 7 AM, and their time with us requires many volunteers! We need dinner and breakfast preparers, drivers, activity and dinner hosts, and there is a special need for overnight hosts as well.

We will have a sign up table in the Commons following Masses the weekend of May 17th &18th, so please stop by and see us. There will be people on hand to answer any questions you might have about this ministry or any of the volunteer slots available. This is a great opportunity for all of us in the church to put our faith into action by lending support and hope to those in our community who need it the most. Questions or comments? Call Todd Vonderohe, 848-6127.
