Adult Formation (top) - Religious formation is a life-long process. Adult learning opportunities are offered within the parish community and in cooperation with the four parishes of Eastern Hamilton County in an effort to facilitate individual and community faith development and spiritual growth.

Catholic Young Adults (CYA) (top) - CYA offers social, spiritual and volunteer opportunities to parishioners in their 20's and 30's. Activities include faith sharing, cooking Sunday dinners at Cafe' Seton, social services projects, social events including attending sporting events, going to concerts and plays, visiting museums, dining out and many others.

Children's Catechumenate(top) - This process, modeled after RCIA, is for children between the ages of seven and seventeen who have not been baptized or who have been baptized, either in the Catholic or another Christian tradition, but have not been catechized.  The children gather to reflect on the Sunday readings and meet with peers and a catechist to learn more about the Catholic faith. Inquiries about this process may be made to the Religious Education Office (317-816-0045).

Children's Religious Formation (top) - In defining the purpose of religious formation, the National Catechetical Directory states “to make a person’s faith become living, conscious, and active, through the light of instruction.”  The catechists of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton strive to nurture the faith of our children by presenting Catholic doctrine based on the four pillars of the Church.  The presentations include group instruction based on the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton written curriculum.  It also includes experiences that reinforce the instruction and relate to life experiences. Click here for more information

Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) (top) - This retreat and parish renewal program provides opportunities for adults to deepen their relationship with God in Jesus Christ. Separate retreat weekends for men and women are held twice annually. Participants in the CRHP weekends continue their growth in faith through the facilitation of future CHRP weekends and in their involvement in other parish ministries. The next men's retreat will take place September 6th & 7th, and the women's, September 13th & 14th. Click here for a registration form and here for a Q&A sheet.

Consolation (top) - If you have lost a loved one and would like to talk about it with a certified Consolation minister please let us know by calling Jerry Burkey at 846-8244 or Susan McIntosh at 846-8459. If you are interested in this ministry and would like to help or would like training for this ministry please call Jerry or Susan.

Divorce Ministry (top) -
The Divorce Ministry serves the separated and divorced Catholics of our parish. This ministry provides a safe and confidential environment for people trying to adapt to the dramatic changes brought about by the pain of separation or divorce.

Eucharistic Adoration Peace Group (top) - The purpose of this group is to Promote Eucharistic Adoration, as well as to help people understand what the Eucharist really is and how He effects and affects all of our lives (Catechesis) and sharing this wonderful treasure with all those we meet (Evangelizing)!

If you are interested in being a part of PEACE, we would love to have you! For more information, call Fr. Bennett at 846-3850. Periodic announcements will also be in the Seton Voice, our weekly bulletin.

Evangelization (top) - Welcome Teams have been organized to meet with newly registered members and to learn their needs and interests. The ministry also seeks to become aware of non-registered and "marginal" Catholics within the parish boundaries and provide an outreach to them.

Facility Operations (top) - The building, which serves as the gathering place for our parish community, requires proper attention. Developing preventive maintenance schedules and assessing the needs of the physical plant falls under the responsibilities of the Sacristan.

Finance Council (top) - This council is charged with creating the budgets under which we operate. Working with the Pastoral Council they develop future projections and provide the oversight of parish expenditures and accounting services.

Gabriel Project (top) - Project Gabriel is a pro-life parish organization whose mission is to provide maternal assistance to women facing crisis pregnancies. Pregnant women in need are matched with an “angel” who will aid her in many different ways.  This may include providing transportation, food , clothing, baby items, as well as emotional and spiritual support.  The "angels" use funds and baby items provided by our parish family’s donations to assist her.

Click here for more information about the Gabriel Project.

Giving Tree (top) - Helping inner city families provide gifts for their children at Christmas.

Haiti Mission (top) - We are twinned with St. Genevieve Parish in Duval, Haiti. Currently members of our parish visit our Haitian brothers and sisters twice a year. We take with us over-the-counter medical supplies, school supplies, musical instruments and other requested items. We have Pancake Breakfasts once every quarter as an additional means of supporting this ministry. Our primary focus is to provide funding for the education of the children of St. Genevieve. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Parlor.  Click here to view the St. Elizabeth Seton Haitian Mission website.

Holy Family Shelter (top) - Prepare a meal, visit and read to the homeless families at Holy Family Shelter the 2nd Saturday of each month.

Interfaith Hospitality Network (top) - As a hosting congregation, we serve three to four families for a week, two to four times a year. The families are assisted by Seton volunteers who provide them with the basic needs and support. We prepare breakfast and dinner for the families along with providing evening activities for the children.

Knights of Columbus (top) - Assist the men of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton to belong to a Catholic fraternity dedicated to faith and family. For more information, click here and/or here.

Legion of Mary (top)
- The Legion of Mary was founded in Dublin, Ireland on September 7, 1921. It is a lay catholic organization whose members provide service to the Church on a voluntary basis in almost every country. It has been operating in the United States since 1931. The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation in the works of Mary and the Church.

The Legion of Mary is made up of a number of local organizations called Praesidiums. Each Praesidium holds a weekly meeting, where prayer is intermingled with reports and discussion.

"Our Lady, Mediatrix of all Graces" Praesidium is sponsored by Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Carmel, Indiana. Meetings are held every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the Upper Room of the church.

Some of our activities include visiting patients at Carmel Care Nursing Home or in the patient's home, saying the rosary at abortion clinics, and first Friday Eucharistic Adoration. Click here to visit the Legion of Mary website.

Liturgy (top)
- Many volunteers make up the liturgical ministries, greatly affecting the quality of worship in our parish. Ministry coordinators recruit and schedule altar servers, ushers, and lectors. Cantors train separately from the various choirs and this ministry is by invitation and audition. Eucharistic Ministers are coordinated by a ministry volunteer, but are commissioned by special invitation by the pastor. The Sacristans are a group of volunteers who take care of sacristy needs-the cleaning and maintaining of altar vestments and vessels. They also help shape the environmental/seasonal decorations in the various worship spaces. Finally, there are various teams which rotate to provide leadership for the Children's Liturgy of the Word during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass. Children (4 years - 4th grade) may participate in the Children's Liturgy of the Word at which they hear God's word in a translation suitable to their age level, and participate in songs and discussions-as well as games and crafts-which bring the scriptures alive for them.

Lucious Newsom's Breakfast Club (top) - Prepare and serve breakfast to inner city children from mid-June through mid-August one day a week and organize Children's activities.

Lucious Newsom's Food for the Poor (top) - Distribute food and clothing to the homeless of Indianapolis every Saturday morning all year long. Coordinate asking the parish to donate food for Lucious and The Lord's Pantry on the 3rd Sunday of every month.

Parish Publications (top) - The Parish Publications Ministry publishes the weekly bulletin "The Seton Voice" as well as the quarterly newsletter "Seton noteS". The "Seton noteS" is sent to all parishioners and is a great way to stay informed about all the activities in our parish community. This ministry is also responsible for sending out news releases to the diocesan paper "Catholic Moment" and local papers.

Pastoral Council (top) - The Pastoral Council acts as a consultative body to the pastor and a liaison to the community. Comprised of thirteen women and men, nominated by the parish community and selected by lot, the Pastoral Council meets monthly. Through prayer to the Holy Spirit, the Council seeks guidance to discern the needs of the parish, plan solutions, animate the ministries and evaluate parish programs. Click here for a list of Pastoral Council members.

Peace and Justice (top) - The Peace and Justice Ministry is responsible for developing and maintaining programs to keep parishioners informed and involved in projects that assist individuals and organizations. Ministry activities include: Christmas Giving Tree, Haiti Council, Hamilton County Thanksgiving Baskets, Holy Family Shelter, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Lucious Newsome's Breakfast Club and Food for the Poor, Right to Life, St. Vincent de Paul, and the Timmy Foundation.

RCIA (top) - The RCIA is the rite provided by the Catholic Church for the faith formation and initiation of adult believers into the church. Its intention is to engage the entire parish community in an ongoing process of conversion -- in the formation of new members, and in the continuing formation and renewal of existing members.

Respect Life Ministry (top) - The Respect Life Ministry is a parish organization whose goal is to promote the Gospel of Life in and outside of our parish community through outreach, education and prayer. In this way, we fulfill the SEAS mission to “…make disciples of all…and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you”. The Respect Life Ministry meets on the 3rd Monday of each month, after evening prayer, at 7:30 p.m. to study, discuss ideas and plan activities.  All are invited to join us. Click here for more information on the various ministries and programs supported by Respect Life.

Rosaries for our Soldiers (top) - Learn to make rosaries for our troops. We make rosaries every Wednesday from 7:00pm - 9:00pm as we pray the rosary for an end to abortion, for the safety of our troops, and for the purpose of peace. For more information please call Kathy Stadler at 844-0262 or 414-1089 or Clo Lillig at 894-0184.

Sacristans (top) - Sacristans prepare for all daily and weekend liturgies, weddings, funerals, Eucharistic Adoration, Benediction, and Reconciliation Services. We are concerned with the care of all liturgical supplies listed below as well as the environment of the entire church, both inside and outside.  This is a big job. Much devotion is needed whether performing these major tasks or the very small ones.  Even the smallest task is very important to our liturgy and shows that we care about our worship space. Children as well as adults are invited and encouraged to participate.  It provides parishioners the opportunity to feel that this is THEIR parish.

Meetings are held on an “as needed” basis.  Activities include the care and maintenance of sacred vessels, flowers and other plants, linens, candles, candle lighters, vestments, furniture in all chapels and Commons, and the outdoor landscaping.  All of these tasks enhance the liturgical experience we share every time we come together in prayer.

Volunteers are needed to donate a few hours of their time to assist in this ministry.  Please contact Claire Magna. (317-846-3850) or by email.

St. Vincent de Paul (top) - Responding to Christ's command to feed the hungry, we strive to manifest Christ's love for all by providing a selection of food and self-help programs to those in need in an atmosphere of dignity and love for client and volunteer alike.

Setonfest (top) - One of the largest Parish festivals in Hamilton County, this four day event involves the entire community and has something for everyone. Funds raised from the festival directly contribute to the operating expenses of the church. Over 200 volunteers help to present a food, entertainment and fireworks extravaganza. There is a Kids Games Area, and in 2002 we will hold our second annual "Kid's Parade". In addition, the festival has a Silent Auction as well as a Bingo Tent and a Las Vegas Style Casino. Skill games of Golf, Basketball and Nickel Pitch help to round out the fun and games. Food and Beverage Areas, (with plenty of seating in the Musical Entertainment Tent), will satisfy all appetites. And best of all - The Rides! - with four nights of exciting thrill rides for all ages.

The festival is traditionally held during the first week of August. However, planning starts early! Please contact the Parish Office at 846-3850 or Bob Land at 574-9986 if you would like to get involved. We always need your help!

Stewardship (top) - St. Elisabeth Ann Seton is a sacrificial giving parish where people are encouraged to show gratitude for God's many gifts by the sharing of their Time, their Talent, and their Treasure. Time and Talent is shared by volunteering to serve in any of our parish's 61 ministries and sacrificial giving of one's Treasure is:

       • Giving to God first,
       • Giving more than is easy,
       • Following a giving plan which includes regularity, and
       • Using the biblical imperative of the tithe as a guide - (5% to the parish and 5% to the poor)
